Q: What are the wedding license requirements to be married in Hawaii?
Your Wedding Coordinator will make an appointment for you based on your arrival to the island. Both the bride and groom must be present with a photo ID to obtain a license. Please click here to obtain a marriage license application. You’ll need to bring this to your appointment along with the license fee of $65.00, cash only.

Q: Do you perform ceremonies on the beach?
A: Yes, you can exchange vows on the sand with the glorious Pacific Ocean as the backdrop.

Q: How do I reserve a date?

Q: It's just the two of us, do I still need a package?
A: To keep in line with Hyatt's high level of service we do require that you choose one of our wedding packages.  They are designed to suit weddings for parties of 2 to 200.  

Q: Do you have suggested vendors for flowers, music, photography, etc?
A: We work on a regular basis with several vendors. Our wedding coordinator will be happy to assist you in working with these suppliers.

Q: Can I taste all the food before the wedding?
A: We will provide a complimentary tasting for all confirmed weddings with 100 or more guests. For smaller groups, a tasting will be offered at a discounted rate.

Q: How long will my reception last?
A: Generally, a wedding reception is planned for four hours.  You can extend the time if desired.  

Q: Can I have an open bar at the wedding?
A: You can elect to have an open bar, a limited selection of wine and beer or a cash bar.  

Q: Can I host a morning-after brunch or a rehearsal dinner?
A: Certainly.  We have several locations that are appropriate for these occasions.

Q: Can I decorate the reception room?
A: Generally, yes.  There will be certain limitations in some rooms, which your wedding specialist can review with you.  

Q: When should I arrive on the island?
A: We recommend arriving at least two business days prior to your wedding to allow time to get your marriage license and to meet with your Coordinator.

Q: How far in advance should I begin planning?
We are happy to begin planning with you at any time; we recommend at least two to three months before you arrive on island.

Q: Are taxes and gratuities included in the pricing?
A: No, your contract pricing will not include all taxes and gratuities.

Q: Can I bring in my own vendors or food and beverage?
Working with our experienced vendors will ensure that your event is well coordinated throughout.  All food and beverage must come from the hotel.

Q: What is the weather like?
A: The temperature in the summer ranges from 80 to 90 degrees, while in the winter months temperatures range from 70 to the mid 80s. It does tend to rain more in the winter months of November through February.

Q: What happens if it rains?
A: For all events that are booked outside, we hold proper backup space in the case of inclement weather.

Q: What do I wear? Can I rent tuxedos or dresses?
There are tuxedo shops on the island to rent from. Unfortunately, there are no bridal shops to buy or rent dresses. It can be very warm, so we suggest wearing lighter linens.
